Tech Week is back. And so are we

Year four. Every June, NYC turns into the world's most chaotic networking event, and every June, Mango strives to make sure our people have a home base in the middle of it.

This year’s calendar feels especially crazy, with an insane 1590 events??? I spent 15 minutes just going through Monday before I gave up. To help everyone navigate the chaos, we're running a Mango WhatsApp group specifically for Tech Week 2026 - share events you're excited about, find people to go with, figure out which after-parties are worth it. Join here, and DM the admin with your name when you do (trying to keep the scammers out lol).

And of course - we’re back with our annual Tech Week Mixer! This was the event that started it all for me back in 2023 - four years in, it means alot. This year, we’re partnering with Silicon Valley Bank, who have been supporting founders, startups, and investors for decades, and CorridorX, NYC’s US-India startup network. As usual expect great drinks, great company, and a ton of Mango Bites.

Highlighting people in our community making strides in diverse fields!

Isha Koya is the Founder of Bolo Bolo Cafe and Bakery in Brooklyn. With a background in engineering and tech, she spent years in the industry before realizing she wanted to build something more tangible, social, and community-oriented. Through Bolo Bolo, she’s been able to create a space centered around connection by hosting collaborations, community events, and bringing inventive South Asian-inspired flavors to Brooklyn.

Why do you do what you do?
I love being part of a community and getting to know the people who walk through our doors every day. There’s something really special about becoming part of someone’s routine, whether it’s their morning coffee, a conversation with a friend, or a dessert that reminds them of home. Creating spaces where people feel welcomed and connected is the most meaningful part of what I do.

What does your Desi identity mean to you, and how has it influenced your journey?I was born and spent my early years in India, and I think that gave me a unique perspective on flavor, hospitality, and community. Growing up surrounded by vibrant spices, sweets, and traditions inspired so much of what I create today. I also grew up seeing how deeply community is woven into Indian culture, and I try to bring that same warmth and closeness into Bolo Bolo. Representation matters to me, and it’s meaningful to share South Asian flavors and stories in spaces where they haven’t always been visible.

What advice do you have for those entering your field?
Take the leap and trust yourself to be a problem solver. That’s probably the most important skill you can develop as a business owner. You’ll constantly be learning new things, adapting, and figuring out challenges as they come. Staying flexible, resilient, and willing to pivot is what helps you grow.
